Comment, and I'll ask you five questions.
Here are my 5 from nicccc
1. What is the best holiday you've ever taken?
Okay, two come to mind.
First, the trip around the USA in 2007 with Bruce. I LOVE the USA and it was kinda like my dream trip in a way, plus I met up with a lot of my friends (Edie, Lori, Nic, Bry)/favourite singers (Vince Neil, Lemmy, Sebastian Bach) (I ran into all 3 of my favourite singers without even intending to, plus I got to drink with two of them. WTF). I got to go back to my old favourite places - New Orleans/Memphis/LA, plus some ones I'd never been to before - St Louis/New York/Las Vegas/San Francisco, and I fell in love with New York. There's so many favourite parts of the trip that it's hard to pinpoint. It was just general awesomeness.
Second - when I went to Bali when I was...7? Not sure how old I was exactly, but that trip was so fun. We stayed in this resort thing, and every day Mum and I would have banana pancakes with icecream on them. I love swimming so much, and I got to do that every day, and I LOVED the villages. The locals were all so cool to me, like I used to have dark brown hair down to my butt and all the locals would like pat it and stuff...Mum found it creepy but I loved it. lol. Plus all the awesome markets, one lady gave me this free wooden tree toy where you hang wooden leaves off of it, which is super awesome, and all the shrines you would find everywhere...definately my kind of place.
Third - I had to add this 'cause it was Australia, so it didn't seem as much like a holiday, but the time I went to Brisbane and Adelaide and met Motley Crue backstage twice! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Plus I ended up friends with Motorhead's road crew so I got backstage passes for their shows in NZ too and got to hang out in Lemmy's dressing room :)
2. What do you like most about Motley Crue?
I like almost everything about them, particularly the 80s-90s. I guess what it really comes down to though, is the music. Obviously there are lots of songs from various bands that really get to me, but so many of them come from Motley Crue - Tonight being my absolutely favourite song of all time, which is a cover of the Raspberries. I feel like...their music is just, a really good representation of how I feel about things, and the 80s style with big drum fills, heavy bass, whiny vocals and bluesy guitar solos is one I really relate to. I know a lot of people just see them as an 80s hair band, particularly because in NZ they never really took off the same way as they did in the USA.
I know the question was what I like "most", which is definately the music, but add to that the fact that they all have their demons. Vince (the singer) is an alcoholic, he once killed a guy while driving drunk and his daughter died when she was very young so he has all that to deal with, Mick (guitar) suffers from ankylosing spondylitis which means he can barely move. I'm friends with his daughter Stormy who also has the disease and Mick/Nikki were the coolest to me when I met them, they were RIDICULOUSLY awesome to me, so I have a real soft spot for those two. Nikki (bass) suffered from drug addiction all through the 80s and technically died twice from heroin overdoses. Tommy (drums) kept doing stuff that gets him in jail, and he HATES jail 'cause he's such a free spirit. Anyway. They're just so...real to me, and it kinda helps me like their music even more because I know where it's coming from.
3. Please explain the transition from Deb to Jemma. Not exactly a question, but no matter. =)
Ah. Yes. Well, basically I always used to use my real name online...and for a while it seemed kinda like a dumb idea, plus I liked the idea of a nickname. Jemma came from two things - partly Jem and the Holograms, and partly Big Brother Australia (the first season) was screening at the time, and my two favourite characters were Jemma and Johnny...so Jemma it was, and then Johnny's last name was Cass, which was quite similar to my last name anyway, so I went with that. I think for a while I actually just used "Jem" though, I think I then lengthened it to "Jemima" for a bit but settled with Jemma/Jem. I still really like it as my nickname though, and some people do call me it in real life which I also like. :)
4. Australia or New Zealand? Why? =D
Haha...I lolled. Well NZ of course! But if I didn't live here...I think they're both quite different though. Australia is obviously way bigger, and when I think of Australia I think of red....uh what's it called? like red stone, surf beaches, heat, I probably think of Australia being a bit more...well popular, I mean it's larger and "foreign" to most other countries, but not as far away as NZ. Whereas NZ is tiny, it sorta tries to be cool but is sooo far away from everything else, but naturally it is really beautiful and has EVERYTHING when it comes to nature...so they're a bit different, but yeah NZ of course, haha. ;)
5. What is your favourite city in the world?
I think I'd have to say LA as number one, started off because of the entertainment industry there but now it means more to me because of all the 80s music scene that happened there, where all my favourite songs were written and recorded. I actually wear a ring that I bought there when I was 16 and I never take off. It's like my promise that I'll end up there one day. Second New York, which I fell in LOVE with, and third Auckland because it is my home town and I know it so well, and it is really beautiful :) But yeah, I love big cities.

RULES:
Bold the ones where you have seen more than three epsiodes.
Italicize if you have seen the entire series. (I bolded and italicized so it's easier to see)
If you want, add three more, but do it alphabetically.
My added 3: Girls Next Door, Peep Show and Garfield. lol.

I thought that you knew it all
Well you've seen it 10 times before
I thought that you had it down
With both your feet on the ground
I love slow
Slow but deep
Feigned affections
Wash over me
Dream on my dear
And renounce temporal obligations
Dream on my dear
It's a sleep from which you may not awaken
You build me up and you knock me down
You play the fool while I play the clown
We keep time to the beat of an old slave drum
You raise my hopes then you raise the odds
You tell me that I dream too much
Now I'm serving time in disillusionment
I don't believe you anymore
I don't believe you
I don't believe you anymore
I don't believe you
I thought that I knew it all
I'd seen all the signs before
I thought that you were the one
In darkness my heart was won
You build me up and you knock me down
You play the fool while I play the clown
We keep time to the beat of an old slave drum
You raise my hopes then you raise the odds
You tell me that I dream too much
Now I'm serving time in a domestic graveyard
I don't believe you anymore
I don't believe you
Never let it be said I was untrue
I never found a home inside of you
Never let it be said I was untrue
I gave you all my time
I gave you all my time
Well you've seen it 10 times before
I thought that you had it down
With both your feet on the ground

I don't think anyone would be very surprised by anything...hmm...I really don't care for Lady Gaga but I don't think I've ever mentioned it to anyone. I don't like her music and her attempts at originality in her dressing are so damn contrived.

I'm gonna go with song lyrics...
There are, of course, too many to list...so let me just think of one song :) And I'm not just choosing a line, I'm choosing a whole song.
Motley Crue - Home Sweet Home
You know I'm a dreamer, but my heart's of gold
I had to run away high so I wouldn't come home low
Just when things weren't right, doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never be left all alone
Take me to your heart, feel me in your bones
Just one more night and I'm coming off this long and windy road
I'm on my way, I'm on my way home, sweet home
Tonight, tonight, I'm on my way, just set me free
Home sweet home
You know that I've seen too many romantic dreams
Up in lights, shining off the silver screen
My lifes like an open book, for the whole world to read
Sometimes nothing keeps me together at the seams
I'm on my way, I'm on my way, home sweet home
Tonight, tonight, I'm on my way, just set me free
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Home sweet home
Home sweet home

In case you don't know me, I'm Jemma. It's lovely to meet you/see you again.
Thanks to my lovely friend jenamus, I've set up camp here in livejournalland. I'm testing it for a while to see how I like it, it has smileys and stuff, and you can leave messages for me after each entry.
I hope you have fun and I'm sure I'll update again soon.
In the meantime, I'll tell you about my day.
B-Line texted me with advice on turntables.
I don't know if any of you remember my entry in my other diary called "Finding D. Winston". But today, me and Edy did quite a nice job of finding some clues towards finding D. Winston. And A. Winston. And any other Winston.
In fact, we made probably the biggest step yet. Well, kinda.
And as soon as I finish writing this, I'm going to see just how much of D. Winston I can discover.

JJ Abrams came to my work today! Yay! For the Star Trek premiere, we had a party up the Tower. I didn't think we were actually gonna have one until I got to work and it turns out it was true. I was meant to be driving the VIPs in Lift 4 up to the VIP area 'cause my boss knew I was the most excited about it, but someone thought I still had sinus problems from my cold (nooo) so I got moved to Sky Lounge, which sucks 'cause the girl who was in the lift was bragging SO hard about talking to them. She doesn't even know who he was! *sniff* But everyone had to come through me, so I still got to direct him (haha director) where to go, and also I got to say hi to Zachary Quinto while I directed him too, so that was cool. lol. He was SSOOO nice, even to the quivering fangirl waitresses who couldn't resist going over to him in order to squee. lol
Apparently JJ might be doing the jump in the morning so I might head to work on my day off to see, maybe I'll do it too if I see him waiting to do it haha...

Hey, that's a good question. If it actually happened, would you have time to decide what you wanted to know about? Just off the top of my head, I'd probably just enquire about the supernatural.

I've had a shitload of awesome vacations. Like, seriously. Any time I've visited the States counts. The one time I went to Bali counts, that place is amazing. My friend was smoking clove cigarettes last night and it smelt just like it. Also the time I went to Australia and met Motley Crue twice was made amazing by...meeting Motley Crue twice. But I guess...the last time I went to the States with Izzy...that was pretty amazing. Like, we basically just did everything we'd talked about wishing we could do. Plus we got to meet up with Edie and her family.
Sitting at the Rainbow and having the owner buy me a drink and tell me I was home now...that was awesome!

Slightly creepy question...
No. I finish work at 8.30pm, so by the time I get home it's 9pm and there's really not much point. The only time I change is if I'm going to the gym after work, but that doesn't really count 'cause its just into trackpants and a t-shirt.

I've never heard that saying before, I thought when I first read it that it was referring to how the time seems to fly, which seems accurate, but I guess the weather thing doesn't really apply here in the Southern Hemisphere...
My birthday is in March so it's always a good month, but otherwise it has flown by. For the first part of March we were on holiday, then came back for my birthday, and it's flown by since as well. I've noticed my depression in the past two days has been worse than it has been in a while, so that's kinda sad. But I'm sick as well so that won't be helping matters. I feel bad because I told work I'd be back today, so they didn't find a replacement, then this morning I felt awful so I had to call in sick again. Grr.

I used to make him tell me all about his Snape stories, and I felt fangirl enough then. lol
also, Robert hangs out at the Rainbow, my favourite bar! yay! And let's hope you don't ever read another entry like this from me. haha
